Tech Creation: Food and Games
Sessions 3 and 4*

Grades 6-8

*Session 4 Girls Only

Create and program cool computerized inventions using a microcontroller and sensors to control motors, lights and sound. Design an automatic Kool-Aid maker, a vending machine to sell candy to your friends, or an ice-cream-topping dispenser.  Invent a fun, interactive arcade game like Skee Ball or Whack-a-Mole!



Instructor:  Michael Penta / Doug Prime

Michael Penta is the Associate Director of the Future Engineers Center/DesignCamp. Michael is a graduate of UMass Lowell's Computer Science Depatment and is currently pursuing a Master's in Computer Science with a focus on technology in education, specifically video game programming as a framework for mathematical learning. Michael has been an instructor at DesignCamp since 2006.
